APPLICATIONS FOR 2023 MANDELA WASHINGTON FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM NOW OPEN
The Embassy of the United States of America in Angola is pleased to announce the opening, from August 16 to September 13, 2022, of the application period for the Mandela Washington Fellowship 2022, which is part of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) that was launched in 2010.
For the year 2022, 14 talented young Angolans will be selected for the Mandela Washington Fellowship, an exchange program to support young African leaders to promote growth, prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, consolidate peace and security in Africa.
The 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship will bring 700 young Africans to the United States for six weeks from June to August 2023 for academic courses and leadership training at local universities, as well as to a summit in Washington D.C. Fellows must be between 25 and 35 years old, proficient in English and have demonstrated leadership in public administration, entrepreneurship, or civic engagement.
The 14 fellows from Angola will participate in intensive training on public administration, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership. With these 14 participants being selected, the YALI- Mandela Washington Fellow alumni will be over 100 members strong.
