THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THE REGISTRATION PERIOS FOR THE DIVERSITY VISA LOTTERY (DV-2025)
The Embassy of the United States of America has the pleasure to announce that the registration period for the 2025 Diversity Visa Lottery (DV Lottery) will run until November 7, 2023. The DV Lottery is open to all citizens of Angola and Sao Tome and Principe who have completed high school or work in a profession that requires specialized training.
The DV Lottery program makes available each year up to 55,000 visas worldwide for applicants randomly selected among all registrants. The program aims to diversify the immigrant population of the United States, selecting applicants from countries with low levels of immigration to the U.S. There is no fee to register for the DV Lottery, and the Department only accepts registrations online via the website dvprogram.sate.gov. The U.S. Department of State strongly recommends that applicants complete their registration themselves since false or incorrect information could result in a disqualification from the program.
On May 4, 2024, DV Lottery registrants will be able to use their unique confirmation number to verify whether they were selected. To prevent fraud, all potential applicants should know that the Department never makes selection or interview scheduling notifications by mail, email, or phone. To participate in the DV Lottery, please visit dvprogram.state.gov. Applicants with questions about the program can visit: ao.usembassy.gov or travel.state.gov. Within the context of the opening of the DV Lottery, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Angola and Sao Tome and Principe, Dr. Tulinabo Mushingi stated that “this is an excellent opportunity to realize the American dream. The U.S. is proudly a country of immigrants. Immigrants keep our nation strong and our economy growing. Good luck to all!”
