Welcome to the Consular Section of the U.S. Mission to Angola and Sao Tome and Principe. The American Citizen Services (ACS) unit at the U.S. Embassy in Luanda provides a wide range of services to U.S. citizens residing or traveling in Angola and Sao Tome and Principe.
These services include travel advisories, health and security alerts, registration, renewal of passports and cards, notarial and affidavit services, birth registrations for U.S. citizen children born abroad, and voting information. The ACS unit of the Embassy also provides information and assistance to U.S. citizens in Angola and Sao Tome and Principe including legal and medical information.
The U.S. Citizen Services hours are Monday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please schedule an appointment online for all non-emergency services.

In the event of an emergency during business hours, U.S. citizens in Angola should contact the U.S. Embassy by calling (+244) 222-641-000 to reach the Consular Section.
In the event of an emergency outside of business hours, U.S. citizens in Angola should contact the U.S. Embassy by calling (+244) 222-641-112. Please ask to be transferred to the Duty Officer.

Important Security Information
Access to Embassy Grounds: For security reasons, visa applicants and American citizens are not allowed to enter the Embassy grounds with bags (except for one small purse), cell phones, or any other electronic devices.
